We correct. In public. Promptly.
Every Republic Media Group property maintains a single corrections policy and a public log. To request a correction, email corrections@republic.bd or use the byline on the story.
What counts as a correction
A correction is any change to a published claim of fact: numbers, names, titles, dates, attributions, quotes, locations. Typographical fixes and clarifications that do not change meaning are made silently.
How we mark them
A correction note appears at the bottom of the story, dated and timestamped, describing what was wrong and what was changed. The original incorrect text is preserved in the note. The URL does not change.
Speed
Acknowledgement within 4 business hours of a credible correction request. Published correction within 24 hours for non-trivial errors. Material errors on the front page are corrected immediately and the corrected story re-promoted with a CORRECTION tag.
